hi,

i have a bug with powernurbs v8.4 and 3ax 2012 64bits (sp2):
when i change mat ID on selected faces and uncheck selected faces, max crashes. I tried on two different computer with same result: max crashes. I did tests on simple model (sphere or box).
Someone have solution ?

Thanks.

Hey Rudo,

I was unable to reproduce the crash you are seeing. I created a box, created a Multi/Sub-Object material and added a few different materials. Then, I applied the M/S-O to the box and changed material Id's while also playing with selection. Nothing I did could cause the crash. I was only using standard materials but if you could give us some more information or a file to reproduce the issue, that would help.

Thanks much.

Erik

It' simple:

Make primitive sphere, convert it to powernurbs then select face(editable nurbs brep) and change mat ID (face display parameters). Uncheck face tool and badaboom max crashes.

i can make these operations on 2011 with PN v7 without crash.

Rudo.

Hey Rudo,

I just confirmed it. Previously I misunderstood and thought you meant to clear the selection with a viewport click.

Anyways, we should have it fixed in the next patch/release. Hopefully it doesn't cause too much trouble for you and we apologize for the inconvenience. Thanks for the information and let us know if you find any others.

Hey Rudo,

I'm not sure if we will have a patch before the 9.0 release. This problem will definitely be addressed but for now we are focused on the 9.0/2013 release.

I'm not going to disclose the release date of 3ds Max but it is right around the corner.

Hey Rudo,

We just released a patch (8.41) which should address the material Id crasher. Please let us know when you get a chance to try it out.
