Any one here using finalrender R2 on Max ?
i'm having trouble rendering with AQMC in caracter anim mode.
Seens to be realated to the generated mesh a rendeer time. !

I have no idea what AQMC is or what it is doing, but if it has issues with the render generated mesh I would try using the Viewport Mesh or Size Dependent Mesh.

Max generally crashes here when trying to render out an animation (PowerNURBS model) with FinalRender with default global illumination renderer settings which includes the AdaptiveQMC renderer setting (stills are fine). If I collapse my model to an editable mesh sometimes it will render without crashing but not always.

Here's a primer on QMC I found on the net:

wierd !
with the mesh version it works for me !!
The mesh topology has to be excatly the same at prepass and at render !!
Unless gi sample won't find the "faces" they where affected too !

I was just curiuous to know if there is a settings that allows to keep NUrbs but that make the mesh never change ?

Collapsing to mesh or what Eric wrote?
I'm not sure how to do what Eric mentioned.

ok so erick ;)

What setting make the nurbs model never change in topology term ?
It should change depending on its viewing nor size. Just like a standard mesh !

Thanks

Like I stated before, using the Render Viewport Mesh or Size Dependent Approx options. These will produce objects that are the same every frame.

Even if the objects moves aways (far) ?
Can't it be any difference on blackburner rendering because of different cpu type....
Sorry to insist but i had wierd problem keepeing nurbs on my last anim !

thanks :)

That would probably be an issue with the Render Engine and/or Max, but hard to tell you without seeing images of the issue.

I've no images !
just that at GI prepass all works fine.
But at render time the rendered say that the topology is different !

Sounds like a final render bug or some object was not set properly. I did an animation with brazil2 with power nurbs using GI and 3d motion blur with no problem. If the topology was changing the 3d motion blur would fail.

ok
i'll check that ;)
