Twist Object

In my continuing spamming of this list (really I'm very sincere) how does one go about twisting an object as in the attached?
I tried the twist modifier but it doesn't do well on an extruded sketch.

Hi Don,

You can use a Rail Sweep to create that shape. Just put the twist in the curves. And then use the Rail Sweep to create the surfaces through the curves.

The twist modifier should also work on that though.
