Power NURBS / Solids / Translators / all plug-ins 6.2 - December , 2009:
- For Power Translators Universal - implemented JT, SolidEdge, SolidWorks, Inventor, Parasolids formats
- Major stability improvements (undo crashes virtually eliminated).
- Fillet tool should no longer lose/corrupt fillet sets.
- Isocurve tool should no longer randomly ignore the user selections.
- Power primitive redraw in sub-object mode sped up.
- plugin load time during Max load time drastically reduced.
- Sub-object cloning within sketch tool improved (bezier handles should persist).
- Various minor bug fixes.
Usage Notes:
1. As part of our solution to the periodic undo crashes, we now maintain a hidden/frozen layer where place holder nodes accumulate during use of the nPower tools. In general, we have tried to minimize the visibility of this layer to the user. The user should not need to worry about this layer for the most part, as its contents are automatically cleaned if the user saves their progress to a Max file and then loads that file. A dialog may appear to remind the user to save and reload their progress if this layer starts to get crowded. It is recommended that users DO NOT manually delete the contents of this layer, as this may cause the undo system to destabilize. Please let us know if any aspect of this system hinders your work flow or if you continue to encounter undo-related crashes.
2. In general it is recommended that users minimize deletion of objects in Max. Frequent node deletions appear to encourage undo-related crashes. If the need arises to delete a large number of objects, it is recommended to 'save and reload' after the deletion.
3. Due to a recently discovered bug in Max, we recommend against single-axis-rescaling of any object in "Affect Pivot Only" mode. Such objects tend to behave oddly, particularly when used as rails or shapes as input to various shape generators. If such a scaling operation is desired with a sketch object, it is much safer to rescale the sub-object vertices than to rescale the sketch object at the top level.
